Jean Roché (or Jean-Claude Roché)

Jean Roché was born into a family of artists, his mother was a painter and his father a writer. Very sensitive to nature, he was fascinated from an early age by flowers and insects, then, a few years later, by the songs of birds.

From 1958, he travels the planet to record the songs of birds without forgetting the atmospheres and the other voices of nature. In 1981, he founded the publishing company SITTELLE and published more than 100 CDs, still on sale today: sound guides, natural concerts in stereo, collection of the most beautiful birdsongs in the world. From the year 2000, Jean Roché became a photographer of wild water, traveling through torrents, rivers, lakes and seashores.

Serge Nicolle

Born in 1947, Serge Nicolle has always been attracted by contact with nature. As a young man, seeing migratory birds pass through Normandy, he dreamed of going to see them on their nesting sites.

His job as an animal illustrator painter allowed him to reconcile his passions: nature, painting, travel. He traveled to all continents to draw on the ground, birds being his favorite subjects. The covid crisis temporarily put an end to his travels.

Currently, he is also turning to botany and is passionate about drawing plants. He has illustrated numerous books, posters as well as numerous CD covers edited by Jean Roché.
